Today I'm sharing with you
4 cards created with 'LAVANDE' papers from

the colours had a sweet elegance & everything just flowed together
inked die cut leaves, a wee bottle of beads tied with a satin ribbon & a tiny frame
a metal flower halved & rubbed with inka gold to highlight the colour
turned over corner filled with flowers & a golden shoe hanging from satin ribbon
lilac hand dyed lace, gems, tiny frame with a perfume bottle & a fussy cut
lady in an elegant gown all tied with a spotty organza ribbon.

Hello & Welcome
a few weeks ago my online friend Tina Walker put out a call for a collaboration
featuring the Pink Floyd album
This is a 3 month challenge where
we can choose any songs ( there are 26)
& illustrate what it portrayed to us.
My choice for this month was 'Goodbye Blue Sky' where he cries:

"Look mummy, there's an aeroplane up in the sky"

Did you see the frightened ones?
Did you hear the falling bombs?
Did you ever wonder why we had to run for shelter when the
promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue

Did you see the frightened ones?
Did you hear the falling bombs?
The flames are all gone, but the pain lingers on.

Goodbye, blue sky
Goodbye, blue sky.
"The 11:15 from Newcastle is now approaching"
"The 11:18 arrival...."
I cannot even try to imagine how frightening the bombing of London during the blitz was
( in reality the bombing anywhere)
as a young child to experience the devastation of homes being destroyed, the smell of fire, the enveloping smoke, the terrifying sound of aircraft & bombs falling, the sirens sounding, the anti aircraft guns firing would have been horrific
My picture depicts the mother trying to calm her son amid all this
& he crying the blue sky has gone!
his only touch of normality was disappearing
how heartbreaking...
art work was created with texture paste & gelatos
mother & child, aircraft, & air raid shelter sign were found online.

Thank you Tina for a great challenge
let's see what next month brings

cheers for now

Hello & Welcome to my blog ..
Lately I have been playing in Mixed Media ..
thoroughly enjoying the experimentation &
am never sure whether it will turn out
Whilst searching through facebook & web sites I happened upon
a challenge on scrapki-wyzwaniowo
I took up the challenge

Wonderful Memories

Hello & Welcome
It's been a while since I joined into challenges ..
the sketch on Stuck?! Sketches caused the creative juices to flow
I played with 49Market St papers  which I felt were perfect
for the 2 princesses attending their Aunty at her recent wedding
here is the sketch designed by Laura Whitaker
a few closeups
fussy cutting & chiffon roses
shiny charcoal beads & more fussy cutting
glass droplets & blanket stitched chipboard
 Great Sketch .. Thankyou ..

thanks for popping by
today I'm sharing with you a journal I created using
I really enjoy playing with neutral colours
& distressing,  grunging  & making mini albums
so I LOVED this new range from Meg's Garden
'it was right up my alley' as they say

My cover was made from scratch with chipboard
using gel medium I adhered my chosen papers to front, back & spine
decorating the join with mesh ribbon
then used photo corners & a metal flourish with a handle adhered on top .
there is a real feather under the quill
clocks are from a previous paper from Meg's Garden
acetate from my stash is adhered as a pocket so photos can be added
lift the metal ring to flip out the page for journalling &/or photo
tags slide out
photo matt
tags for more writing & a mat for small photo
tag with key opens the flip out
The letter unties & opens out & the lions head page flips out as well

a post card for more journaling & a photo mount

final page with space to write the end of your journal entries

Hello all
catching up on my blogging today
there is a saying
'Stop the world I want to get off'
I don't want to get off I would like it to slow just a little
Recently I traveled to Victoria for a retreat & one of the classes was titled
we gathered bits of nature & the created whatever came to mind
I gathered & brought it home to complete
it was such fun to think outside the box a little & combine
gathered bits with papers from SHERLOCK JOURNAL VOL II
my base is mdf which is coated in gel medium & crumpled dictionary tissue paper,
I then tore some corrugated cardboard, frayed hessian & inked paper
I continued layering with Meg's Garden papers from my stash plus hand made paper
& a printed acetate frame

the ART piece & the alphabet are scraps
left from my mini album in another post

I finished my OTP with my gathered pieces of
gum leaves, gumnuts & other strange pieces wire,
broken windscreen, bits of cork & string.
I loved the grunge of these papers
Ready for some more Sherlock?
The journal papers are ready for you!
