January 27 2012- Die Cut ~ Snowman

yippee !!!!! it's Friday ... reveal day on SOUS ...

this week the die cut challenge is :

SNOWMAN

considering the heat of the day here down under was about 35degrees C

I would much rather have been building one for real .... LOL ..

however here is my take on the challenge ...

am building my Christmas card supply early ....

I used my circle cutter ...which is not technically a die ....

& glittered my snowman with MM glitter

hand drew the top hat...

holly leaves are DB cardstock sticker ,

christmas tree & alpha is CI,

mesh ribbon is AMM ( old as !!!!)

had the paper for quite a while, too

finished it all off with flowers & lace from my stash

Die Cut Challenge " WINTER FUN"

I actually lashed out and bought myself 2 dies ...

oh dear :0!!!! ...

is this the start of something bigger ?????

One is the Tim Holtz 'tattered florals'

which I have used on my layout plus I added LYB snowflakes

the other is: Die-namics 'contempo cage'

photo is of my friends whilst they were living in London....

I titled it Frosty by 2 because that's what they were.. very cold !!!!

and as a play on the song 'Frosty the Snowman'

Bo Bunny Layout Challenge

After wonderful family Christmas celebrations

& a few days away from the scrap room

before & after Christmas

my fingers were itching to play ...

the Bo Bunny Layout Challenge came along ...

lo & behold the creative juices sprung into action ..

I rummaged my stash & found my Bo Bunny 'Winter Joy' paper

which I felt suited the photo of the snowman tree decoration taken a few years ago

whilst out seeing Christmas Light displays ..

Snow at Christmas is difficult to envisage when it's 28degrees C & humid in sunny Queensland

I'm very late in posting this because as the year winds down to a close

things are a-whirling here

I can't believe all that's happening at present,

with DGD Stevie & her friend Lizzay graduate from year 12 ,

have their formals (one here & one in Cairns) and

prepare for schoolies;

such an exciting time for them ..

on November 11 SOUS revealed a terrific sketch designed by the talented Nanne....

my take is a photo of DGD Charlie & I taken at a Turkish Restaurant

where we celebrated my niece's birthday

Charlie was very taken with the belly dancer &

decided there & then that's something she could do

next day she practiced.....LOL !!!!!

we are encouraged to see what we can do that is creative and different!

my flowers are from a K&Co book titled Paper Flowers ...

I decided to go a bit grunge,

playing with tissue, ink, stamps, machine stitching, a few buttons, some string & tape...

my papers title & flourish are Basic Grey 'out of print' range....

yep she's crazy & cute...

my takes

I was inspired by the softness & femininity of the beautiful plates,

so created this LO of Lizzay using 'pink paisley patterned papers,

adding a few flowers & leaves from D-Lish

sketch take

Charlie loves Harry Potter & decided she needed her hair to look like Hermoine's

as Charlie calls it " all crimped."..

so washed her hair, plaited it wet and let it dry ..

next day .. ta dah... crimped hair

I have used papers from my Noel Mignon kit plus green tara flowers, DB eyelets, MME twine, Kaiser gems

the scruffy dog answers to "Spunky"

he has been a faithful companion to my DD & her children for 10 years,

DD rescued him from the pound

we are not sure of his age ... about 14 years

my last LO is using the heart flowers & snail which I have shaded with inks

again using products from my stash Sassafras, Kaiser, MME,

Charlie in the garden with our cat 'Johnnie' who is not usually friendly to children however seems to like smooching to Charlie

Die Cut Challenge:

"Sky"

This challenge is super open. Build a sky scene, use a birdie, balloon, airplane.

Play around with clouds or rocket ships. Anything that will remind us of the great blue above!

Another great Die cut Challenge on SOUS

I had a bit of fun with this.. checked out my stash & found the little bird ( I think it's from Papermania???)

and some flourishes from Basic Grey 'two scoops' range

this is a great way to use up harboured stuff.... LOL

Charlie was having a great time on the foreshore at Sandgate climbing the trees and playing in the playground as well as gathering shells which have been stored safely !!!!

Die Cut Challenge on SOUS

the first ever Die Cut Challenge on Stuck On U Sketches is ....

"Play"

Interpret this anyway you'd like! You can use the word, the theme, a toy or activity or

anything else you can come up with!

The object being for scrappers getting the most from their electronic cutters.

Many will use their Cricut

however they are open any other machine out there!

Let's just use what we got! LOL! A challenge itself! =)

store bought die cuts can be used!!!!

three things became my invitation ... LOL

1. Using from my stash

2. Store bought

3. PLAY

so play I did

I have used products from my Noel Mignon kit plus a few items from my stash

MME paper, BG paper, MS punch,WP alpha,

also the DIE CUTS are 'store bought' Basic Grey 'Lauderdale'canvas & paper mix

Sarah, Stevie & Lizzay loved the fairy bread at Charlie's party ... then they found the jar of sprinkles ... let me say they had fun & I had to buy a new jar of sprinkles LOL ... oh BTW they weren't the only ones having fun there were a couple of others ... sadly no pics ...

Once again my DGD Charlie features on my LO ...

she is in prep & was so so excited to be able to go to the school disco ...

she chose her outfit days before the event ...

her pretty princess dress,

hair braided during the day so it was crimped for the night & a pretty ribbon,

and her fur coat ...

she looked so gorgeous ..

oh & note the lip gloss LOL ( a girl can't go anywhere without her lipstick!!!!!)

June 10th Sketch on SOUS

Stuck on U Sketches has a fabulous sketch from Beggahuna to play with ...It is a multi-pic layout sketch, so grab some photos and let's get scrapping!

I used some Websters Pages patterned paper, plus a scrap of MME, prima flowers, lace, ribbon flowers & ribbon from my stash, to create my LO of DGD Charlie-Frances dressed in her brightly coloured tulle fairy costume with a circlet of gold wired tinsel

BW2 has a new challenge up & as always the very talented team have done an amazing job,creating some wonderful inspiration ...

The challenge is:

My take ...

I painted the colour on my patterned paper & stamped with a script stamp, then scrunched & inked ..

DGD Stevie has beautiful green eyes IRL .. this pic is another one of the hundred or so self portraits LOL !!!!!!

ooooh !!!! I just love Latte & Cream time on 'Scrapbudz blog' ...

there sure are some scrummy sweets on the specials board in this coffee shop

this month it's an

Apricot Tart served with lashings of Whipped Cream

I used lots of bits from my stash, never ceases to amaze me what I find when I rummage through LOL!!!!... photo is of DGD Charlie in the neighbour's garden ....
