Cyber Crop Mystery Class

The Scrap with V Cyber Crop has definitely been a blast... IT'S still going ...
I have just completed my mystery class challenge with DT KylieJ,
I love these mysteries .......
the list of requirements included a sheet of music, patterned papers,
a large embellishment, rub-ons, alphas & ribbons &
this is what we created ... gorgeous .......

"high tide" is my take on the sketch challenge designed by DT Kylie
"sweet" is for Challenge # 1 our inspiration was gleaned by an image of a ice cream waffle cone
with gelato colours, set by DT Janine
Challenge #2 set by Kim, hand made embellishment & paint,must use 3 of colours, red, orange, blue, green & white,the pics in " keeping cool" were taken in Cairns last week
we are having a fun time at the SWV Cyber Crop .... popin and check it out...

back home

I arrived back to sunny Brisbane a few hours ago
had a great time in Cairns, very eventful......
Visited the Botanical Gardens today before leaving
the whole area has had a re-do & it is fabulous.
It has a speed limit of 40 to drive through now,
the street has been built up with all the trees & tropical
plants, and it has had curves built creating a winding
thoroughfare.... just beautiful.... We were to have
morning tea at the tea rooms unfortunately that
had to be postponed till my next trip..
All in all it was a fun time with family & friends

Australia Day in Stormy Cairns

The car was packed, the food prepared, everything was ready for a day at Lake Placid........ everything but the weather... overcast with storms predicted, so.... up went the tarp. out the back, phone calls made and Australia Day is being celebrated at home.... the gangs all here,lunch was lamb chops on the barbie, sausages, steak and chicken kebabs & salads. The kids ( too many to count).. LOL, are in the pool, a great fun day is being had by all.Celebrating with us today here
french, italian,phillipines, a couple of kiwi's and aussies through and through........

Hi from Cairns

We arrived in Cairns at 9.20am, after a very early start, to a tropical downpour, we were all warned to be very careful leaving the aircraft as the stairs would be slippery, I took off my sandals and paddled barefoot across the tarmac..... LOL .... not the most glamorous look however much better than ruining a pair of sandals or falling over...
We spent the day sitting around & chatting .....

Time Flies....

It has been fantastic having my twin grandchildren visiting
I can't believe how fast the time has flown by .......
My"taxi " has been busy ... whilst they have caught up with rellies and friends
My brother's son is 11 months older than Leigh & they are both
self-confessed "nerds", Leigh has spent quite a few days there, which is great
'cause all his cousins are ..GIRLS...so he had a boy to hang out with...
Steviee, the social butterfly , caught up with two friends she started school with,
they have always remained in contact, the last time they saw each other was 3 years ago.
Leigh is an avid reader, he has finished 3 books of the "twilight" series...
and has started another. I am pleased to say , Steviee,who is not a reader,
has finished 1.5 books of the same series.
the holiday is quickly coming to an end... we all fly to Cairns on Tuesday 20
I'm staying for a week.....

Had a great day today, took Leigh & Stevie to visit
their uncle, while they were there I went to West End
and had a mosey around.. found a great little coffee shop
with yummy cupcakes ... so I treated myself :)
We went to see "The curious Case of Benjamin Button"
after their visit, which was thoroughly enjoyed,
Leigh liked it when Benjamin was old, Stevie thought
he( Brad Pitt) was so handsome he could marry her now
too bad she's only 14.5 ....

oops I missed a page... there were lucky door prizes .... I was very fortunate
to win this gorgeous red patent handbag ..... it's fabulous and holds so much stuff

Wow !!! have I been busy the last few days...I have 2 of my grandchildren
down on holidays.... We've been catching up with family and friends...
We had a family get together on New Years Day, which I must say was
an extremely hot day... must have been I was in the pool...... LOL
In December we had a great day at the Create '08 with Heidi Swapp
I have just completed these layouts of that day.


It was so much fun meeting up with members of the SWV forum again,
we were very early birds, so we are fueling up with a coffee to kick start our day

It would be very remiss of me to not thank
Ness, my darling Daughter-in -law for her
valuable work to get this blog up and running
Without her I would still be sitting at a screen
looking very perplexed...
I did manage to register the name...
that's about it... LOL..
